The Homecoming Royal Ball is a chance for us to hang up our backpacks for an evening of food, fun and friends. It is a time to unwind after midterms and pull out your best tuxedo and favorite gown. As an attendant at last year’s Royal Ball, I came up with 5 reasons why the event was one of my favorite moments as a Panther.
1. THE FOOD
The food kept me coming back and forth from the dance floor to the dining area! My friends know that if I am not busting a move on the dance floor, then I am somewhere stuffing my face. I particularly enjoyed the small bites because they are fancy but just right for snacking in formal attire.
2. A REUNION
There is nothing like seeing all your friends in one place! It is more than likely to see friends you haven’t seen since freshman year and people who you have not had the chance to spend a lot of time with. The Ball is a perfect mixture of friends, good laughs and memorable times in a place where everyone is happy and spreading positive vibes.
3. THE VENUE
For the past three years, Georgia State has been great at picking locations where students cannot only explore the city, but be in an environment that fits the stature and occasion. In 2017, the ball was at the Fernbank Museum, which was a beautiful site for pictures and an evening of glitz and glamor in the city.
4. ROYAL COURT PERFORMANCE
It is fascinating to see the royal court let their hair down and dance along with students in the crowds. They spend weeks working on the choreography and it all comes together as an exciting site to see!
5. MUSIC AND ENERGY
The Royal Ball is one of those events you have to check off on your Georgia State bucket list! How often do you get to dress up in formal wear, dance the night away, have fun with your friends and meet new people? It’s the perfect opportunity to bring out your best looks and moves.
We hope to see you all dressed to impress at the Royal Ball! Be sure to tag #Panthers4Life and #InTheSpotlight on social media so that we can see you at your best. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth in Student Center West and online while supplies last.
