The Homecoming Royal Ball is a chance for us to hang up our backpacks for an evening of food, fun and friends. Being right after midterms, this is the perfect time to unwind, so go ahead and pull out your best suit or tuxedo and favorite gown. As someone that attended last year’s Royal Ball and had a blast, I came up with 5 reasons why you should be there this year!
1. THE FOOD
The food kept me going back and forth from the dance floor to the dining area! My friends know that if I am not busting a move on the dance floor, then I am somewhere stuffing my face. I particularly enjoyed the small bites because they were fancy but just right for snacking in formal attire.
2. IT’S A REUNION
There is nothing like seeing all your friends in one place! You’ll probably end up seeing friends you haven’t hung out with since freshman year, as well as those you haven’t had the chance to spend a lot of time with. The ball is a perfect mixture of friends, good laughs and memories during a time where everyone is happy and spreading positive vibes.
3. THE VENUE
For the past three years Georgia State has been great at picking locations where students cannot only explore the city, but be in an environment that fits the stature and occasion. Last year’s ball was at Fernbank, and this year it will take place near campus at the Georgia Freight Depot. I can’t wait to see the Cirque du Soleil inspired decor!
4. ROYAL COURT PERFORMANCE
It is fascinating to see the Royal Court let their hair down and dance along with students in the crowds. They spend weeks working on the choreography and it all comes together as an exciting sight to see!
5. MUSIC AND ENERGY
The Royal Ball is one of those events you have to check off on your Georgia State bucket list! How often do you get to dress up in formal wear, dance the night away, have fun with your friends and meet new people? It’s the perfect opportunity to bring out your best looks and moves.
We hope to see you all dressed to impress at the Royal Ball! Be sure to tag #Panthers4Life and #InTheSpotlight on social media so that we can see you at your best. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth in Student Center West and online while available.
