Five Things I’m Thankful For At Georgia State

It seemed like yesterday when my mother and I took a tour of Georgia State with our eyes wide-open in amazement at the student success and extracurricular activities I would soon be a part of. Here I am, almost three years later, with triple the thankfulness to be a student at this school.

Since it’s the season of giving thanks, five things I’m thankful for at Georgia State are:

One of my goals as a high school senior was to attend a college with people who are diverse in race, religion, sexual orientation and more. Well, Georgia State is the perfect place to be because the student body I wished for has connected me with study partners, lunch buddies and party mates for life!

If I could have Miss Demeanor’s Café for Thanksgiving dinner, I would not pass it by! One of my all-time favorite things to order is the pasta. The mixture of tossed vegetables and shrimp simmered in Alfredo sauce gets five dollars out of me each time. The Café is also the perfect place to meet up with friends in between classes.

I fell in love with Paw Prints during my sophomore year after finding out mailing an envelope was less than 25 cents. If I have sent off a total of 100 cards and letters through their office since then I would not be surprised, because I am a BIG FAN of student discounts!

The professors at Georgia State are not only passionate about what they, but who they do it for! Office hours are my go-to means of contact in order to get to know my professors. If they are flexible, that is even better and I’ve already advanced in the student participation and engagement.

Campus life is lit! From homecoming to Panther Palooza, Georgia State knows how to have fun! I do not mind letting my hair down at events because I know my peers also need an extreme break from classes like I do.

Panthers, what are you thankful for a Georgia State? Leave a comment below to tell us! On behalf of myself and your Panther Family, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
