Calling all student videographers!
Georgia State University invites currently enrolled students to create a 60-90 second original, unpublished video that tells their story…their friends’ stories…or alumni stories about the value of their experiences in Atlanta.
This video contest begins April 2 and concludes at 5 p.m. April 29th, 2013. Up to three winning videos will be selected. The videos will be judged on April 30th, with winner (s) notified shortly thereafter.
Entries will be judged by university faculty and staff on how well they reflect students’ experiences in Atlanta during their studies at Georgia State. These experiences can range from internships and service projects to cultural activities and networking.
Georgia State’s location in Atlanta provides students with wide-ranging opportunities to connect with the city’s business, government nonprofit and cultural communities. Students can expand their view of the world, find doors open to internships and opportunities just a few blocks from campus and develop professional skills and relationships that enhance their post-graduation success. They may even get to work alongside faculty on research or other projects in Atlanta.
Given this unique opportunity to attend a university in one of this century’s top global cities, students are encouraged to capture their own (or their friends’) experiences and perspectives on engaging with the City of Atlanta.
In addition to internships, jobs and networking experiences, students may also wish to consider capturing their perspectives on these kinds of topics: volunteer and/or service-learning opportunities; participation in civic fundraisers or nonprofit campaigns; the experience of getting around town to take advantage of cultural and entertainment venues, the parks and the wide variety of dining establishments; class or research projects in town, participating in Atlanta’s growing film industry, etc.
The resulting video must be appropriate for all audiences.
