High school seniors will make one of the most important decisions of their life in the next few months regarding what college or university to attend. As a senior marketing major, deciding to attend Georgia State University was one of the best decisions of my life.
Here are five reasons why UGA was not for me!
1. Freshman at Georgia State make history before they step foot in a classroom
For the ninth consecutive year, incoming freshman at Georgia State have set a record for being the largest, most qualified, and diverse group of students to enroll at the university.

2. The Downtown Advantage
When Georgia State students need an internship that will translate into a career upon graduation, they walk down the street. When companies in Atlanta are searching for their future leaders, they begin at Georgia State University. When it comes to Fortune 500 headquarters, Atlanta ranks 15th globally, 4th in North America, and 3rd in the U.S.
3. Georgia State University is ranked the sixth leading up and coming university in the nation!
The list includes institutions that have made “the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus or facilities,” according to U.S. News & World Reports Magazine.
4. Non-traditional is the new traditional
Georgia State’s non-traditional campus changes as much as its students do, reflecting the real world.
5. And Georgia State’s campus is the new Hollywood

Although Marvel’s upcoming Ant Man movie is still being filmed, students were able to catch some of the action on their own in-between classes.
